CME selected to carry out the modernisation of specialised technical facilities for the Concession and Installation of Solar Parks at Cape Verde airports

CME has been selected by the CTDAR consortium (Consórcio Teixeira Duarte - Engenharia e Construções S.A. and Alves Ribeiro S.A.) to manage the projects for the modernisation of special technical equipment, the improvement of runway lighting and signage, and the conception and installation of solar parks at various airports in Cape Verde. 

This comprehensive contract, valued at €13.152 million and with an execution period of 22 months, represents a significant milestone in the country's airport infrastructure.
With works planned at the airports on the islands of Sal, Praia, Santiago, São Vicente, Boa Vista, Maio and Fogo, CME will be responsible for raising the safety and operational efficiency standards of these infrastructures, carrying out specialised technical installations, improvements to buildings related to airport operations, as well as upgrading taxiway lighting and improving runway lighting and signalling and associated control systems.

As part of the implementation of sustainable energy at various airports in the archipelago, 324 panels will be installed at São Vicente Airport, 576 panels and a set of batteries will be installed at Boavista, 832 panels and a car park roof will be installed at Santiago Airport and a wind farm with 2 wind turbines will be installed on the island of Sal.
